I'm alive!

I'm back! I'm back! And I've been behaving myself, honest. School drowned me.
I forgave it though ~ because I'm honestly adoring having school again this fall. ;)
. . . spending time with the fambly. Absorbing the amazing, amazing colors and food that only Autumn can bring.
. . . and admiring Sara's pumpkin picking skills.

Oo oo! Grosgrain has a gorgeous, gorgeous giveaway this week. As always! Lovely place. Click Here.

I still think this dress is too cute.

I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils . . .

I think my brain isn't quite excepting the fact that it is, indeed . . . Fall. It's mentally still in warm sunny Tybee Island. Thus I go into brain freeze every time I go outside. Bebe too ~ every time we go out she runs right back in. We're are both extremely cold-natured . . . match made in heaven . . what can I say.

I adore Autumn, however. It's my most favorite season! I'm determined not to miss out on any more of it than I have already. We had yummy warm chili the other night . . . then Apple Turnovers for desert. I have become a turnover making addict. They are so fun and easy ~ and end pretty happy. I followed this recipe of Ina Garten's.(The most trust worthy FoodNetwork chef for desserts . . . in my humble opinion.)
To top things off. . . . today I watched 'You've Got Mail'. Fall isn't fall until you have settled down with a new exciting sewing project and watch 'You've Got Mail'. It's classic . . . and wonderful.
I have just rambled like crazy. Sara says this post is a brain freeze. Oops!
I'm still overdosing on cough drops ~ give me a break!

Home Again, Home Again

I looked out my window this morning . . .
and it was Autumn!
It was Autumn to the fullest.
It is glove wearing, tea sipping, scarf swinging, Autumn!
Whew! Freezing! But it is honest to goodness gorgeous.

Happy Autumn, Blog World!

I'm crossing you in style . . .

I got to go bike riding on the beach today.
. . . on a shiny shiny RED bike!

THEN . . . I stuck my feet in Moon River. Honest. *dies*

Savannah & Movie Stars!

^
Sarie thinking I'm taking a picture of something else . . . thus "moving out of my way". hehehehe

Savannah is so addicting! Really. There is just so much to see ~ you never feel ready to leave. It's such a romantic city. OOoooh. So lovely. I'm not really a city person. No no. I love my small town that is home. Home sweet home. I like to be able to walk from one end of town - to the other ~ and still be alive.
BUT I wouldn't complain if I ever had to live in Savannah. It would be a city of my choice for sure.
We took the Movie Tour today! We never take tours like that. Nope. So it was extra exciting. Seeing the places where scenes from . . Forest Gump, Cape Fear (Yeah, I was somewhere where Mr. Gregory Peck was. Sahweeet.), Something To Talk About . . . and so on . . were filmed.

But today was a most fabulous day to take this tour! So, we were getting all settled in on the bus . . . yada yada . . .waiting for our tour. Well, it turns out that today was the first day of filming of The Conspirator! And apparently our guide (as well as two of the other tourists) had already seen Robert Redford once that day! Anyways, we got to go on the set!! As close as we could anyway.
We could see movement on the monitors and the cameras - way neato. It was so exciting! We were so very close to Robert Redford and James McAvoy! Oooh the anticipation! Unfortunately, they were filming indoors the entire time we were there. But it was still neat and exciting.
I mean . . . Rooobert Redford and James McAvoooy. Awesomeness.
Some of the extra peoples. :)

Lighthouse Lovelies

We went and toured the Tybee Island Lighthouse today ~ got to do all the neat inside stuff. Which of course is the best! In my opinion. The life of the lighthouse keeper is fascinating.
The lighthouse keeper's house was lovely. Lighthouse keeper's wife must have had very awesome taste in color! The quilts were my favorite . . . but the rugs were equally as gorgeous.
This family also had pretty swell taste in photos . . . lots of family photos amongst the house. Even if these were not the original choices of the lighthouse keepers to hang . . . they sure did take some wonderful candid shots.
Did some Letterboxing of course! Although it was really hard to be discreet there. lol.
Before heading home . . . we walked on the beach for a while.
I have felt dorky today. (More than usual anyways.) I don't know if it was the overdose of cough drops or what! But I kept feeling embarrassingly silly . . . happy to back to where there are covers to hide under, puppies to snuggle, kleenex and cough drops . . .
*happy sigh*

Pirate Festival

Today we went to the Pirate Festival! Arrrrr!
See our ~ um ~ last minute put togethered costumes? Amused?
Good.

It started out super, wonderfully warm and sunshine galore . . . which was sooo nice after being inside with a cold for three days. Happiness!
Everyone's costumes were either way cool or really hilarious. I love, love events that call for costumes. Especially when a whole town looks just as silly as you do.
(Minus the real pirates of course . . zey didn't look silly at all.)
Then it rained. Rained hard.
. . . we got really really wet . . .
It was all still awesome fun.
Bebe can dress up too - see! The mighty Queen Beatrice of the Western Sea Board! Aye!
(This is Bebe's . . "Why aren't you in my picture?" face . . <3)

Then we came home and ate the most delicious pizza in the world . . . if you come to Tybee you must, must, must have pizza at Cousin Vinnie's. The Bugs Special pizza to be precise.

Fair winds, mateys!

Hoarsely Beachy

Hey Y'all!
Still here! I've still been sick ~ although beginning to recover now. I have a voice again! Yay! So annoying being voiceless. It is. I am most happy that we are staying at such a cute cottage ~ being sick on vacation isn't cool either way. But being at such a cute abode . . . makes it a little more ~ hm ~ enjoyable?

I'm most bummed about already failing my goal to blog everyday while here. But if you missed me the past two days - just read my last post 2 times and you'll be caught up on my life! Promise. hehe

Wednesday we toured the river walk stores in Savannah! Sore throat and all it was lovely. Savannah is lovely.

We'll be staying four extra days! Yay! Will be moving to a different cottage tomally, however. A different cottage closer to the beach. . . oooo.

I have high hopes of feeling well tomorrow. Mmhmm. And if I do ~ I desperately want to go on a bike ride.

Judie just flopped flatter than a fritter at my feet ~ she's so funny looking. <3

October 5, 2009

Rainy, rainy day at the beach . . .

. . . and Bebe and I aren't feeling so swell.
Going to have a pity party together . . tea . . .tv . . . new cozy socks . . .

Being A Tourist

Today we went to a few few shops, rode around Tybee . . . zat sort of thing.
Saw the lighthouse (obviously, lol). Tried to keep an eye out for Sandra Bullock's house ~ but no such luck. :P I'm really, really excited about touring Savannah! Tybee is cute ~ the houses are beyond adorable. Makes me want to decorate a beach house so bad! If you were to have a colorful beach house ~ what color would it be? I think mine would be teal. Or fuchsia ~ with the entire interior being painted white. Maybe. Or grape . . or . . or . .

Judie thinks she has died and gone to heaven. I think we are going to have to pry the beach from her chubby (Yes, she does too have chubby) paws. The trees in the fenced in yard are very junglish and low. Which ~ is just paradise. The grass is all spongy AND her and the gang got really nice bones tonight. Heaven. Plus she sees the car as a huge sofa - but everyone is with her for hours and hours. Saahweeet indeed.

Lemon Drop Cottage

Greetings & Salutations from the Lemon Drop Cottage on Tybee island!!

Ah! I can't believe we are actually on vacation! Feels like we haven't had one in soo long ~ it is muchly needed. *happy sigh*

I intend to blog everyday while we are here. Since apparently, I am incapable of blogging everyday in my everyday life. . . and I miss it! So here we be! *waves*
The cottage is absolutely adorable!!
(I spy our three, even more adorable doggies in adorable bandannas. . .hehe. And those are NOT snakes. We had just come in and hadn't taken their leashes off.)
Wilson has discovered a tennis ball ~ and thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread. Thus has decided to play a game that resembles dog style ping~pong with Sarie.
(Sara says it was fetch . . riiight)

Going to go raid the games and see what we gots here! Then I may snack on junk food . . . love vacation.

Layaway Puppy

Once Upon A Time . . .
We fell madly in love, with a little doggie named Ida Rose.

We were fostering her . . . but had decided to keep her forever and ever.

One day her original owner showed up. And we had to say goodbye to Ida Rose.

We cried.

A dog from the same abode as Ida ~ her step brother. Was surrendered to the shelter. Then we worried and worried about Ida Rose.

My dreams of the future consisted of ~ Me, Bebe and Ida Rose. Living in a oh so groovy, gypsy inspired Airstream.

Life would be peachy, when Ida came home.

One day,not so very long ago. Ida Roses's original owner decided to abandon our Ida as well.

We were johnny on the spot. But the timing was all wrong.

Ida wouldn't be able to stay, forever and ever.
And there is no groovy, gypsy inspired Airstream.

Ida Rose will someone elses forever and ever puppy ~ and they are blessed indeed.

We were able to spend four amazing days with her . . here.
I slept with a velvet puppy on one side, silk on the other. Life was good.

Yesterday, we said goodbye again.

We cried.

But maybe one day Bebe & I will live in a groovy, gypsy inspired Airstream and maybe Ida Rose will come back. She did once. She might again.

Life will be peachy.
