This has been such a long week! Wow. Aside from being beyond busy . . . . I've had blogger block. Let me ask your opinion, what would you like me to post about? As my beloved reader. We were involved in a bit of an animal "rescue" this week. We are huge animal people over here. I'm sure you guessed that if you've read my past posts.
It was a medium black poodle with adorable shaggy curly fur. Obviously very lost and very sick. But at the same time, you could tell he belonged to someone who loved him.
We brought him home. Put one of Bebe's old sweaters on him. Gave him a warm blanket and tried our best to make him better. We were blessed with the most wonderful people to help the little darling. One of the animal ladies was going to pick him up Monday and take him to the vet for us. Get him scanned for a microchip, etc. But he didn't make it. He died five hours before she got here. At 5am. We have definitely had our share of loosing pets. But I had never been in the room. We were all sad that he didn't make it. But we're all glad that he didn't die in the rain or hit by a car. This was better than that. We do not regret bringing him home at all. As sad as it was. I'm sure we helped him some . . . and that is a very good feeling. If it had been Bebe, I would have wanted someone to do the same.
The Humane Society is in desperate need of foster homes for dogs. We are seriously thinking about it. It feels so good to help an animal in need. But it would be refreshing to take care of one and give it to a happy home. Healthy and alive.

Happy Halloween!

Oh, Laura, that just broke my heart. What a precious dog. I am so sorry.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about the poodle, but I'm glad he died in comfort rather than out there somewhere. I've lost pets before and it's so hard, but worth it! For me, I'd rather have my dogs and go though the pain of losing them as opposed to not having had the joy of them at all. :)
ReplyDeleteI've rescued animals before and it can be tough, but it's great to find a good home for them. I tend to get attached a little too easily to them though. :)
I LOVE Audrey Hepburn!
